Farmers Feed and Seed

Farmers Feed and Seed is a business located in Greensboro, Georgia. The business was originally opened in 1949, but was bought by the current owner Ken Cawthon thirty years ago. Before purchasing the store, Ken worked there for ten years. Farmers Feed and Seed has always been a staple in the Greensboro community, whose farmers have depended on them for various types of seeds and feeds for over half a century. But the store’s history doesn’t start in 1949. Before being turned into a store, the building was used for the first half of the nineteenth century as a railroad depot. In the present however, the store has changed a bit from what it once was. More than ever the shop now tends to homeowners as well as farmers. Due to the decline of the smaller farms by larger farming corporations, many farmers in the area have been driven out of the business. As the farmers stop shopping the store, Farmers Feed and Seed has had to adapt to the changes and start catering towards homeowners who are trying to get things they need around the house. As time keeps changing, Ken is determined to keep the store changing as it always has.
