COLUMBIA, S.C. – I’m documenting the changes on campus due to social distancing. I wanted to focus on areas that would normally be filled with people (or cars in the case of the parking lots and garages) and how “empty” they are now. I chose to make the photos black and white and played around with the angles and composition in order to depict the “unreal” atmosphere surrounding the situation.

I’m a local from Columbia, S.C. In terms of photography, I’ve been taking photos for almost two years. I switched my major to visual communications recently, and I was pretty much self-taught before then. I love photographing people and traveling, so I want to explore more street photography and photojournalism.
