Democratic candidates flocked to South Carolina to win over voters by giving inspiring speeches urging their audiences to come together and defeat Donald Trump. Candidates went out of their way to hold meet-and-greets across the state to answer questions potential voters had, as well as getting to know South Carolina residents. Although politics can be a divisive subject, there was one central message that stood true throughout the campaign: the need for big, structural change. More than 539,000 voters cast ballots in the primary, giving Joe Biden, former vice president, a landslide victory. Candidates Tom Steyer, Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar withdrew from the race soon after.

I have been with SGTV, the campus TV station, since I was a freshman, and through that I gained experience using a camera. Most of my experience is with video, but I’ve taken photos behind the scenes on film sets, and I’ve covered campus events like sorority functions.
