COLUMBIA, S.C. <\/strong>– These technically are not considered photojournalism because I color graded them rather than color corrected, which is not in the photojournalism editing ethics. These are from my Week 5 photos. I reordered them to show a “cause and effect” timeline of how COVID has affected small businesses, and how the people of Columbia are reacting to it. Again, the first is a sign of a restaurant near my house, who is keeping the inside of the building closed for health precautions and offering a curbside deal. The second is how citizens of South Carolina are reacting, a lady with a sign “small businesses are dying”, which plays off of the first photo. The third photo is a UofSC student protesting to keep S.C. closed, while another couple is in his face with a counteracting sign after a protest was held at the S.C. Courthouse to reopen South Carolina. These photos tell the story of the impact of COVID on businesses, and how that has affected people and business owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
